Skin being one of the main organ requires a lot of care and this is possible when the steps you may take are proper. A number of people among you have been asking if we can use gel-based sunscreen before the moisturizer? So here is what I found!
In the world of beauty, this may be one of the biggest confusions coming over and you may have seen a number of different and effective tips for it. While exploring the internet, did you find the relationship everyone is discussing between sunscreen and moisturizer? I know some says use it before the moisturizer, while the other says after.
My research relating if we can use gel-based sunscreen before the moisturizer?
I have searched a lot on this topic so I got to know many pieces of advice. Give it a read;
- Always use moisturizer first then apply a layer of best sunscreen for face over it. Just to lock in all the layers you have applied on your skin. Personally, I use this way and I think this is somewhat more logical
(Disclaimer- I am not professional I am just writing my own experience and views).
According to me, after applying layers of toner, serum, and moisturizer then sunscreen is the best layer to protect my skin. As you know, it doesn’t matter what skin type you are, moisturizer is always compulsory. So, in order to keep my skin moisturized I will definitely put on a layer of moisturizer, not sunscreen because sunscreens are basically meant to protect your skin from UV rays not to “specifically” moisturize it.
- I read that first apply sunscreen then go for moisturizer. This fact didn’t satisfy me at all (reason given above).
- It is always recommended not to mix moisturizer and sunscreen together because both the variants differ in ingredients and such mixing can cause to decrease their effect and can cause some skin issues.
TIP: AFTER APPLYING LAYER OF MOISTURIZER WAIT FOR 2–3 MINUTES THEN APPLY SUNSCREEN. ALWAYS APPLY SUNSCREEN 15–20 MINUTES BEFORE STEPPING OUT OF HOME.
- If you don’t want such hustles then I think the ideal option is to try out a 2-in-1 product that is a moisturizer with SPF. It can help you out easily.
OVERALL, using a moisturizer is of course necessary. But, if you want an easy way then you can definitely go for the 2-in-1 product (moisturizer with SPF).
Hope! You find it helpful.
